Last month, Paul McCartney fans rejoiced (me, specifically) at the news of a 3D printable model of Macca made from 3D scans of the man himself. Well, more good news for fans of the rock legend: now you can 3D print Paul in full-color!
After the model went up, 3D modeling, scanning, and reverse engineering service EuroPac 3D had its technicians to give the model some color, as well as Paul’s Höfner violin bass. The figure was hand-painted and then scanned and then 3D printed on a 3D Systems 660 ProJet 3D printer. The resulting file has since been uploaded to PaulMcCartney.com and a tweet of the figure was even retweeted by Sir Paul himself, as well as posted on his Facebook page.
Now, you too can download and 3D print a full-color model of this epic icon or, if you don’t happen to have your own 660 Pro (or are still waiting for the CubeJet), you can download the model and paint it yourself.
