3D Printed Dolls Take the Bronze in UK's Independent Toy Awards

Toy Shop UK has just conducted their sixth annual Independent Toy Awards, looking at the top toys that parents are buying for their children this Christmas, according to the UK’s independent toy retailers.  With a total of 62 companies submitting their products and more than 350 retailers voting on their favorites, the site has released its results.  Winning a Bronze Medal in this year’s awards is none other than the world’s most recognizable 3D printed toy brand, Makies.

Toy Shop UK is an enormous database of toy retailers that connects toy consumers with the products they’re looking for.  In addition to providing toy suppliers with a venue for promoting their goods, the site has been hosting its Independent Toy Awards for the past six years. This year, MakieLab, manufacturer of customizable, 3D printed Makies dolls, won the Bronze Medal for the Doll category, kicking it a step up from last year, where it received a Commended Medal. This only adds to the 3D printed doll makes long list of awards, which also include: Dad’s Choice Awards 2013 for Best Fun Toy; number three in WIRED Magazine’s list of 100 Hottest Start-ups in Europe, 2013; the Grand Prize Winner at SXSW Interactive Accelerator 2013.

Congratulations, MakieLab! May 3D printed toys continue to garner such warranted recognition in the future!
