XYZprinting Partners with Walmart for Online 3D Printer Sales

XYZprinting has steadily been making its way to mainstream consumers, particularly in the US, and new partnerships with big US companies like Microsoft will see the Taiwanese brand’s products associated more and more closely with affordable desktop 3D printing.  Now, the an even greater number of US consumers will be exposed to New Kinpo Group’s 3D printing division via a partnership with Walmart.com.

On the retailer’s site, XYZprinting’s entire line of FFF 3D printers are now available for purchase, including the da Vinci 1.0, da Vinci 1.1 Plus, da Vinci Duo 2.0, da Vinci All-In-One 3D printer-scanner combo, and the da Vinci Jr. (reviewed by 3DPI here).  Though XYZprinting bills its printers as easy-to-use, plug-and-play machines, what must be particularly appealing to a business like WalMart, which prides itself on low prices at all costs, is the extremely low price point of the machines, with the Jr. having a price tag of only $349.

Interestingly, Wal-Mart’s Stores, Inc.’s warehouse store chain, Sam’s Club, carries the MakerBot Mini Replicator, but not the other printers in the MakerBot line.  It now occurs to me that the other printers may have been just out of the desired price range for the retailer. And, through Walmart.com, the shopping giant has a new partner with whom they can sell low-cost 3D printers.
