Just as the world around us in constant flux, so should the digital world and Sketchfab has brought us a step closer to portraying that reality. In honor of the debut of Sketchfab’s Animated Preview feature, I decided that, for this week, the Free 3D Printable should reflect the site’s contribution to mixed reality. The animated gun-bot below is free to download, representing the intersection between the digital world and physical world.
Soon, similar models in video games, movies, and TV will be able to be exported for 3D printing at home or via service providers. All of this will be made much more natural for ordinary people with devices like Microsoft’s HoloLens and Google’s Project Tango smartphone, just unveiled today.
