Afinia Jumps UP to the H800 3D Printer with May Launch

Afinia 3D, also known as UP 3D Printers in an alternative context, has announced the upcoming launch of the new Afinia H800, a radically redesigned upgrade to its previous (and very successful) H480 range, with a 10” x 8” x 8” build envelope.

The new H800 is coming in May 2015 and will feature a number of solutions to make it more intuitive and accessible to new and mass users, Afinia’s (the first 3D printers to be sold at Radio Shack) primary target.  The printer’s resolution is now down to 100 micron layers and the company states that it is 30% faster than the previous model.  The H800 also integrates fully automated platform leveling and height sensing, as well as a complete enclosure with HEPA filtration and a build heated plate for optimized ABS filament support. Normal size filament spools conveniently fit inside the printer’s lateral enclosure.

You might also notice that the H800 looks remarkably similar to the UP BOX 3D printer.  Afinia has another distribution agreement with TierTime, the Chinese manufacturer of UP 3D printers, to distribute in North America, several countries in South America, and Europe.

The machine will be on sale through the company’s educational and retail channels for $1,899 and perspective buyers can ask to be added to Afinia’s waiting list to be notified as soon as the H800 starts shipping, which, knowing the production capabilities that both UP and Afinia have demonstrated with the previous model, will likely be exactly next May.
