My Mini Factory’s Halloween 3D Printing Design Competition is Now Accepting Entries

3D model marketplace My Mini Factory has announced their latest 3D printing contest and, just in time for Halloween, the theme is appropriately spooky. All that you need to do to enter is to design a cool costume prop or a creepy curiosity and you could win a FlashForge Dreamer 3D Printer or some cold, hard cash.

You have the option of submitting designs inspired by one of two categories: either a Halloween-themed prop/costume or an item from the creepy “Curiosity Cabinet”. Props can be any part of a costume, a weapon, wearable nose, or even a mask. My Mini Factory has even provided a blank mask template that you can download and modify to your heart’s content.

They don’t need to be creepy or disturbing, but, let’s face it, those qualities couldn’t hurt. If you need some help coming up with an idea for a model, you can visit the Props & Costumes section on My Mini Factory, and, if you need help designing 3D printable props, you can check out their 3D Modeling Tips page.

All entries must be submitted no later than midnight, October 12th and make sure that you designate if it is a Halloween Prop or a an object for the Curiosity Cabinet. Entries must be in STL format, and you also need to include a render measuring 800 x 800 pixels with a detailed description. If you own a 3D printer, send in high-resolution pictures of your printed entry and make sure that you include your optimized print settings. All entries will be test printed and, if they pass verification, they will be entered into the contest to win the 3D printer.
