Meet MEET Lab & Consider Their Survey

MEET Lab is a collaboration between Cardiff School of Engineering at Cardiff University, PDR and Fab Lab Cardiff and is supported by the Welsh Government. The Lab provides a valuable resource for hands-on experience in the use of digital technologies through thematic workshops together with advice on design for 3D printing and digital production and how to integrate them into a cohesive business model. Raising awareness of digital technologies and signposting to local designers and suppliers of 3D printing services is another proactive strand to the lab’s remit.

MeetLab 3D Printing

Currently, the MEET Lab team is looking for micro enterprises, entrepreneurs and inventors — based in Wales or further afield — to work with them and experiment with emergent technologies such as 3D Printing in order to incorporate them into their design and manufacturing process. As part of this remit the team is also looking to gather information on how micro SMEs and individual makers (creative practitioners, entrepreneurs and designers) are adopting these emergent technologies into their practice. To this end, they are conducting a short survey and are inviting Micro SMEs and individuals who are using — or planning to use — these technologies as part of their own business (or future business).

As a thank you, participants will be entered into a prize draw for a sample 3D printed part (up to £400) using an Additive Manufacturing process of their choice from SLA, SLS, FDM or DLP. [NB: 3D file must consist of one part only and the part must fit within a 200x200x200mm building envelope]
