3DPI.TV – Level Up Village Partners with 3D Systems for Education

Level Up Village or LUV is 3D Systems’ newest partner in its recently announced MAKE.DIGITAL education initiative, which will provide 8 to 12 year old students with science, technology, engineering and mathematics classes. When students take a class in the US that class will also be given to a student living on USD$2 or less in a LUV partner school in India,Rwanda, Uganda or Mali for example. MAKE.DIGITAL features an online hub where educators can access 3D printing resources, curriculums and training for the classroom.

The Global Inventors in-training package for schools includes a 3D Systems Cube 3D printer and cartridge, Cubify Invent Software and Global Inventors in Training After-School Class. The after school class features a comprehensive teacher training and ongoing curriculum to allow students to have a real learning exchange. LUV provides economic incentives for teachers to receive training, and is expected to reach over one hundred and fifty schools globally in 2014.

According to Abdullah Syed, a teacher in Pakistan at the Society for International Education, the only way teachers can prepare children for tomorrow is to teach them how to think in both global and local contexts, and enable them to innovate and adapt to changes.

Educators can sign up directly for Level Up Village’s training programs on their website, where you can also find LUV’s Parenting & Education Over Coffee podcast.
