UK Tech Trade Is Giving 3-Year Warranty on 3D Systems’ Consumer 3D Printers

Midwich, the leading trade-only distributor of technology solutions in the UK, is taking consumer 3D printing very seriously. It has launched a 3D printing dedicated section on its website and has organised a six stop 3D Print Offering touracross the UK that started last week on April 2nd in Manchester and is set to conclude May 1st in Birmingham.

Its current offering is made up of all 3D Systems consumer/prosumer targeted products: the Cube, Cube X and the Sense 3D Scanner, and will grow in the upcoming months with the release of 3D Systems’ new line-up (ColorJet, ChefJet, CeraJet and CubePro). So Midwich is preparing to support its trade clients with an industry first, three-year warranty plan on all 3D Systems’ consumer models, current and future.

The warranty, provided by service supply chain specialist Centrex Services, will run alongside 3D Systems’ own standard one-year cover to provide resellers and end users with greater peace of mind, something that can prove to be highly strategic to build a market around products that many consumers still do not entirely understand.

“The three-year warranty is important for many resellers, as for some end-users, the investment is considerable”, Darren Maxey, product manager at Midwich, explained. “Working with Centrex Services to provide a full warranty ensures this exciting new technology remains in constant use. 3D printers are used in a variety of sectors and a myriad of ways, so it’s important for the equipment to be repaired or replaced quickly.”

“We’ve been overwhelmed,” Darren added, “with the initial response to the Cube and CubeX models available from Midwich. 3D Systems is a tried and trusted manufacturer of this technology and with the introduction of this warranty, we are confident we have the package for total reseller and end-user satisfaction.”

Centrex Services will take up responsibility from the outset: as soon as a unit is sold, the service specialist is notified and takes control of any warranty issues. Through its 130 service personnel and its 30,000 square feet warehouse and engineering repair facility, the company will provide a single point of contact for all elements of the services supply chain, from initial control centre support, to placing the correctly skilled engineer on site with the right part and within the service level agreement.

“We are solely focused on making service and support simple for resellers and end users,” Glyn Dodd, Managing Director of Centrex Services, commented. “Our whole ethos is centred on driving excellence through connected thinking throughout the service supply chain, as well as a single point of contact. We believe our service can add true value to Midwich’s portfolio of products and services by simplifying after sales product support.”
