Short selling in 3D Printing stocks significantly reduced – except for Voxeljet

Stratasys, 3D Systems and ExOne short position reduced by over 10%

Short interest in 3D Systems Corp. (NYSE: DDD) fell by 10.1% to 25.03 million shares. Some 23.9% of the company’s float was short. Days to cover fell from eight to five. In the two-week short interest period ending Mid-April 2016, the share price rose by about 11.5%.

Stratasys Ltd. (NASDAQ: SSYS) saw short interest fall by 13% in the first two weeks of April to about 7.2 million shares, or 14.9% of the company’s float. Days to cover fell from eight to five. The share price rose by about 1.4% in the two-week period ending the 15th of April 2016 and the stock closed at $26.00 on yesterday.

Short interest in ExOne Co. (NASDAQ: XONE) fell 10.1% to 1.84 million shares. About 20.1% of the company’s shares were short. ExOne’s share price rose by 2.2% in the two-week period ending the 15th of April 2016. The stock’s 52-week range is $5.81 to $14.75 and shares closed at $13.969 on Tuesday, up about 6.7% for the day. Days to cover rose from five to six.

Short position increased at VoxelJet – Corporate event in the card?

Short interest in Voxeljet A.G. (NYSE: VJET) increased by 7% to 882,000 American depositary shares (ADSs), with days to cover falling from nine to six. The share price rose by 14% in the two-week period to April 15. The ADSs closed most recently at $6.03, up about 2.9% yesterday.

VoxelJet balance sheet is a preoccupation to investors. A corporate event is anticipated, hence the shorts pilling on the stock.
