Are you located in Europe and trying to build your own 3D printer, but importing V-Slot from the US is proving to be an expensive hassle? Well good news, new hardware manufacturer Rat Rig has just become the first European manufacturer to produce V-Slot.
V-Slot is the extruded aluminium rail that most reprap style 3D printers use to build their metal frames. It’s popular because it can be used for structural support or it can also be used as tracks for any moving parts that your build may have. Makers, hobbyist and photographers use it to build sturdy frames for their 3D printers, CNC machines, camera sliders, tripods and even robotics. Until now there has not been a manufacturer of V-Slot in Europe so if you needed some you would either have to purchase it from a company in North America or China and have it shipped to you at great cost, or purchase it from a local company that imports it for an equally increased cost.
Rat Rig is a new Portuguese manufacturer of hardware for creative hobbyists, makers, photographers and other professionals. In addition to V-Slot they produce all kinds of hardware including pulley systems, brackets, mount plates, spacers and movement wheels. They even produce build kits, sliders, audio rigs and camera accessories and hardware.
All of their V-Slot is produced locally and it is always in stock so you won’t have to worry about any long shipping delays, customs fees or supply issues.
They sell directly to consumers, manufacturers and distributors alike, so anyone is able to purchase parts and hardware directly from them. All standard size V-Slot profiles are available but they will custom cut parts to any requested length, and they do offer tapping on request. Rat Rig offers their V-Slot in black and in a natural aluminium finish.
