Need 3D Printing Experience? MakerBot Needs You!

By now, anyone who’s reading this site has likely heard of MakerBot, the largest manufacturer of desktop 3D printers and a subsidiary of Stratasys, the largest manufacturer of industrial 3D printers.  Well, if you want to become a part of the big name brand, now may be your chance, as MakerBot is accepting applications for its 2015 MakerBot Summer Intern Program.

3D printing internship with Makerbot

The Brooklyn-based company is currently looking for undergraduate and graduate students to fill internship roles in a variety of fields, including, according to the company “engineering, manufacturing, production, customer support, sales, marketing, public relations, software and business development.”  And these aren’t unpaid gigs; these are paid positions that will see interns work with the company’s senior leadership, as well as attend lectures and work in 3D printing programs dedicated to their area of specialization.  The program will last from June 15, 2015 to August 14, 2015 and may earn interns opportunities in other tech companies or further employment at MakerBot itself.

Jenny Lawton, CEO of MakerBot, said of the program, “MakerBot has had a robust internship program since finding and mentoring young talent is an integral part of our company culture. At MakerBot, interns aren’t just observers; they get to work on real projects and gain valuable experience that we believe will help them kick-start their careers. We see 3D printing as a tool that is necessary to prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow, and our interns get the unique opportunity to experience and learn about the fast-growing 3D printing market firsthand.”
