MakerBot is Going Big at 3D Print Week in NYC

Inside 3D Printing has, this year, expanded its New York show greatly, with 3D Print Week flowing out of the typical, paid Inside 3D Printing Conference and Expo to a free 3D Print Design Show (or $20 at the door), featuring 3D printed fashion and artwork, as well as a series of workshops and meet-ups throughout NYC.  Based in Brooklyn, MakerBot will most definitely be present, not only giving keynotes and presentations at Inside 3DP, but also by using the event as an opportunity to host a huge series of MakerBot Sessions to introduce designers, educators, engineers, and more to their brand of 3D printing.

As participants in 3D Print Week, MakerBot will be presenting at Inside 3D Printing, with new CEO Jonathan Jaglom giving the afternoon keynote on April 16 at 1:30 pm and the brand’s Training Manager, Erin Arden, providing a tutorial on “How to Get Started 3D Printing” the previous day, April 15, at 2 pm.  Expanding upon this introduction, MakerBot will also be hosting an all-day workshop on April 14, from 10 am to 5 pm, at MakerBot HQ in Brooklyn.  To register, for the MakerBot® Learning Primer on 3D Printing, click here.

Lebed and Misiurek are pictured with a large-scale SuperMod 3D printed modular wall system, which will be on display in the MakerBot Booth at the Show and was created using MakerBot Replicator Z18 3D Printers.

MakerBot Sessions is the brand’s way of elaborating on the expo booth experience by providing software and design demos, workshops, and “interactive design bars” to attendees of 3D Print Design Show.  The full list (below) of Sessision is quite long, but include Zbrush, Photoshop, Tinkercad, Modo, and Solidworks demos and the opportunity to interact with Wacom products, like Cintiq Creative Pen & Touch Displays.

Scott Allen with the multidisciplinary global architecture and design firm Perkins+Will. The skyscraper recently won the global and prestigious Tall Building Award by MIPIM. Scott Allen will also present during one of the many MakerBot Sessions where designers and educators will speak about their use of 3D printing.

To top off all of their events and presentations, the brand will be hosting a MakerBot Party at the MakerBot Retail Store at 6:30 p.m on Thursday, April 16.  The event is invite only so, to get an invitation, email [email protected]. This goes for the party and 3D Print Week, in general: be there or be cube.  To learn more about 3D Print Week or to register, click here.  To see the full list of MakerBot Sessions, look below:
