Materialise Brings Long List of Designers to 3D Print Fashion Show

3D Print Week is hitting New York next month and the city will be flooded with all things 3D printing.  Unlike previous Inside 3D Printing events put on by MecklerMedia Corporation (OTCQX: MECK), 3D Print Week will be, to put it bluntly, quite massive, with separate events dedicated to multiple areas of 3D printing.  In addition to meet-ups around the city and the Inside 3D Printing Conference and Expo, 3D printing leader Materialise will be sponsoring the 3D Print Fashion Show, complete with a huge list of designers and 3D printed pieces.

On April 16 at 5:30, the 3D Print Fashion Show will kick off with fashion designer Melinda Looi (pictured above), who created “Asia’s First 3D Printed Fashion Collection” with Materialise in 2013.  With this new collection of 3D printed fashion, Looi will debut the “World’s First Full Length Evening Gown”, a single, flexible garment unique from its stiff predecessors.   The show, curated and directed by MIRAS3D founder Natacha Alpert, will also feature the following designers: Aaron Trocola, Andy O’Mara, Bradley Rothenberg, Dilek Sezen, Francis Bitonti, Heidi Lee, Helena Lukasova + Denisa Nova, Holy Faya, Liz Ciokajlo, Paul Redmond, and Rachel Nhan.

The 3D Print Fashion Show is a part of the larger 3D Print Design Show, occurring April 16-17.  In addition to the Fashion Show, this section of the event will also host the 3D Print Art Show, in which 3D printed artwork will be showcased, created by established and unknown artists alike.  The best part about the Design Show is that, if you register now, it’s free or, if you buy tickets at the event, they’re only $20.  And this gets you access to many of the essential portions of 3D Print Week, like the exhibition hall and the keynote addresses.  This, I believe, is a significant step for Inside 3D Printing, as a whole, as it allows much greater access to the public to explore the world of 3D printing.

If you’re interested in purchasing tickets for the complete 3D Print Week, which will provide you access to every lecture and even more activities, register here and get 10% off with the code “3DPI”.  I look forward to seeing you there!
