On August 19, 2016, the southern Florida city of West Palm Beach witnessed the birth of a brand new site for innovation and creation. Halo Technologies, a 3D printing, 3D scanning and rapid prototyping company, recently opened the doors of its first retail location in front of a crowd of almost 350 guests, including West Palm Beach mayor, Jeri Muoio.
The importance of community involvement
The company planted its flag in a completely renovated, state-of-the-art facility in West Palm Beach, with the hope of becoming a beacon for innovative technologies and creative growth in the community. Prior to the successful ribbon cutting ceremony, the team from Halo Technologies urged engineers, manufacturers, 3D printing enthusiasts, teachers, students, community influencers, and anyone interested in local business and 3D printing to attend the event. The new company aims to provide “a unique and exciting option for local field trips, workshops, classes, and tours for all ages along with extra curricular activities that promote an interest in entrepreneurial endeavors” and eventually plan to hold educational programs for students and adults to learn more about the 3D printing field. President of Halo Technologies, John Calloway said:
“The Halo team is excited to continue our growth right here in Downtown West Palm Beach. By bringing innovative and interactive technology and engineering solutions to the community, we hope to have both a social and economical impact in the region that will propel South Florida into being a leader nationwide in a variety of industries, including manufacturing and technology.”
In addition, the new storefront is set to house an interactive community center and one of the largest 3D printers in South Florida.
