3D Printers

BEEVERYCREATIVE Joins the World of 3D Printing Education

3D printing can blend art, engineering and awesome fun into a single process, making it a very appealing technology to bring into the classroom.  In the past year, more desktop 3D printer manufacturers have begun increasing their efforts to get their specific brand of 3D printers into schools with discount printer packages, 3D printing curriculums and educational online communities.  The most recent 3DP company to launch an educational initiative is Portugal’s BEEVERYCREATIVE, makers of the BEETHEFIRST 3D printer.

BEETHEFIRST 3D printer education program

BVC has just announced its 3D in Schools project, which hopes to get every school in Portugal to adopt 3D printing in the classroom.  The motivation behind the project is that, by giving the youth greater access to 3D printing, they’ll begin using it earlier and, both give their country a competitive edge in the global economy, while bettering the world with all of the benefits that 3D printing has to offer.  The manufacturer hasn’t yet laid out what its 3D in Schools endeavour will look like exactly, but does say that it will be broken up into the following parts:

  1. Widespread provision of specific technological solutions to schools;
  2. Adaptation of teaching content;
  3. Presentation of advantageous commercial solutions.

At the moment, BVC is looking for partners from the areas of education, technology and suppliers of school equipment to help them establish their new program.  For companies that wish to participate, contact [email protected].  Such a partnership may be a beneficial one, as BVC not only wants to get their printers in every school in Portugal — after successfully launching the program in their home nation, they’d like to branch out into other countries around the world.

The exact details of 3D in Schools will be presented at the Lisbon Design Show, which takes place from October 8-14.  When that happens, we’ll let you know more about BVC’s plans for 3D printing education.
