Authentise, based at the NASA Research Park campus in Mountain View, CA, has steadily been growing since it was founded at Singularity University in 2012, expanding its technologies, partnerships, and services. So, while as originally meant to provide the secure streaming of 3D printable files, it is now much more than that, taking on partners like Lowes and researching computer vision for 3D printing quality control. Today, the company has become even more with the launch of 3DIAX, a a platform for storing, modifying, and 3D printing files.
Upon joining the Siemens Frontier Partner Program, Authentise has released 3DIAX, which allows users to both securely store their 3D printable files and, also, prepare them for sharing and printing. Developed in tandem with third parties, like Siemens and Makeprintable, 3DIAX is a suite of tools that includes “rendering, nesting, file fixing, model manipulation, search, toolpath generation” and access to 3DIAX also guarantees access to the company’s Design Streaming and Print Monitoring tools. While the file fixing is performed via Makeprintable’s software, 3DIAX also gives users the ability to access SIEMENS Geolus®, “a leading geometry search engine that can help you search through 3D data with ease and speed.”

Not only does 3DIAX provide an all-in-one workflow for 3D printing, so that users can prepare their files before streaming and monitoring their prints, but developers can access the 3DIAX API in order to create their own applications. This also means that businesses will be able to integrate the API into their own sites for customers to directly access these tools. Sites that wish to do so are promised that the switch to the 3DIAX platform is easy, with 3DIAX charging on a pay-per-use basis. In fact,French 3D model repository Cults has already joined the program.

Authentise is quickly becoming a powerful player in the 3D printing space. With the right connections, the company will only see its tools being used in more places by more people. At the same time, these tools will only grow in scope. I wouldn’t be surprised if Authentise becomes an omnipresent part of the 3D printing industry.
