German 3D printing software developer 3YOURMIND has enlisted Spanish 3D printing consultancy firm ADDvance as an official partner and software distributor for the Spanish market. In addition, the company will be partially locating its core team at the 3DFactory Incubator in Barcelona. 3DFactory Incubator is led by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, and industrial Spanish consortium, and Fundación Leitat, a non-profit R&D organization.
Both the moves are intended to position 3YOURMIND as the go-to software solution for Spain’s growing additive manufacturing market. “We see how fast Spain is adding additive manufacturing alongside their current production offering, which means they are ready to optimize their AM workflows now and over the coming years,” comments Krystian Pawełczyk, Sales and Business Development at 3YOURMIND.
“3YOURMIND wants to be the partner in pushing that development and using their software to lower the production management costs so that Spanish companies can meet their AM goals faster.”
The Spanish additive manufacturing market
Spain is considered to have the world’s thirteenth-largest economy by nominal GDP, and holds an integral position to support industrial production in Germany and France. The country has also made significant developments in its additive manufacturing industry over the years.
For example, global information technology company HP chose Barcelona as the location of its new 150,000 sq ft 3D Printing and Digital Manufacturing Center of Excellence, which it opened to help accelerate Industry 4.0. UK-based additive manufacturing specialist Renishaw opened an additive manufacturing Solution Centre in Barcelona this year as well, intended to give local companies access to Renishaw’s equipment and expertise. The likes of GKN Aerospace, a global engineering firm based in Worcestershire, UK, and ARRK, a product development specialist, also have significant additive manufacturing centers located in Spain.
3YOURMIND software digitizes additive manufacturing processes for companies in the U.S. and Europe with a range of end-to-end workflow management platforms. The company is focusing its new software development on connecting and automating distributed industrial production centers. With Spain’s additive manufacturing market growth, connecting the European manufacturing market to Spanish producers will become increasingly important for the company’s operations.
ADDvance and 3DFactory
In order to address the Spanish market, 3YOURMIND sought a local contact point in the country in ADDvance. The company provides three main services for 3D printing revolving around consulting and training, support in design, analysis and simulation, and equipment distribution, including 3D printers, software, and post-processing machines.
ADDvance will therefore help provide 3YOURMIND with executive focused offerings, training programs and industry connections that will support the company’s endeavour in the Spanish market. Both companies will initially work closely together on projects, with the goal of ADDvance becoming 3YOURMIND’s primary communication and implementation point in Spain.
In October 2019, 3YOURMIND was also officially accepted into the 3DFactory Incubator in Barcelona, which opened February this year. An additive manufacturing work centre, the 3DFactory Incubator aims to help European 3D printing businesses and startups grow. 3YOURMIND’s AM workflow software will be integrated into the incubator, helping Spanish SMEs and tier supply networks adopt 3D printing technology.
“We are excited to be part of 3DFactory to bring our 3D printing workflow software to the spanish industrial sector. We want to take this opportunity to promote our solution to identify parts in additive manufacturing,” added Marie Thiébault, Regional Sales Manager, France at 3YOURMIND.
