XYZprinting's Nobel 1.0 SL Laser 3D Printer Now Available for Purchase

The low-cost photopolymer 3D printing market has only just begun to take shape, with many new entrants hitting the scene beginning last year (many of which you can learn about in our most recent Top 10 list).  Among the players that may have an important impact on this segment is XYZprinting, the 3D printing subsidiary of New Kinpo Group, as, today, they officially release their Nobel 1.0 SL 3D printer, now on sale via Amazon and the XYZprinting online store.

Though the Nobel 1.0 has been made public for some time, and has even been available abroad, the printer is now ready for purchase in the US at a retail price of $1,499, making it among the most affordable photopolymer printers on the market.  Using a UV Laser 405nm, the Nobel 1.0 is a stereolithography machine capable of quickly curing UV-sensitive resin at layers as fine as 25 microns. Additionally, the Nobel has a comparatively substantial build volume of 5” x 5” x 7.9”, as well as an auto-refill feature, which refills the resin and ensure that it remains at the optimal level. The printer is FDA certified, with its case preventing the emission of UV rays outside of the printer. Though the Nobel 1.0 doers not require proprietary resins, as their FFF counterparts necessitate proprietary filaments, the company recommends the use of different resin vats for each resin used to ensure quality.

CEO of XYZprinting, Simon Shen, says of the printer, “XYZprinting provides the most extensive 3D printing product mix to satisfy different customer needs, including everything from the simple, easy-to-use $349 da Vinci Junior 1.0 to the unique da Vinci 1.0 AiO (all-in-one 3D scanner and printer) and now the professional Nobel 1.0 SL laser 3D printer. The Nobel 1.0 is setting an industry standard for SL technology, and we can’t wait to see what the world’s 3D printers do with their new devices.”

The Nobel 1.0 is an exciting entrant into the market, as its price is the same as many low-cost FDM/FFF 3D printers currently being sold, undercutting the competition significantly. Those that might consider purchasing such a machine, then, are now open to a similarly priced 3D printer capable of finer details. That way, if they’re interested in becoming familiar with stereolithography, they may very well choose the Nobel 1.0. That is, unless the SLA machine from XYZprinting’s big competition, Zuhai CTC Electronic Co., doesn’t capture the market first. Of course, while the CTC Riverside SLA printer will have a low price of $1,480, it will only be capable of layer thicknesses as fine as 100 microns.
