China’s first 3D&VR experience pavilion is located in Jiangdong district, Ningbo, Zhejiang. We are wondering how is everything going since the pavilion opened in June.
VR experience
In the VR experience area, most of the equipment purchased are HTC Vive. According to the general manager Ye Fang Yuan, there are hundreds of people coming to experience everyday. Some contacted the company after visiting and showed interest for buying a equipment home.
“Awesome! It makes me feel that I’m really there, in the game situation. It’s definitely worth visiting. I’m taking my kid here too next time,” said a visitor.
Smart hardware and 3D printing area
There are nearly 30 3D printers in the 3D printing area. Among them are FY3D-ULT printers independently developed by 3D Fang Yuan, domestic FDM 3D printers and light curing 3D printers including FY3D-DLP-D1/D2. Also, products like Form1, Form2, 3D Systems Cubepro from the world famous Marketbot replicator, ultimaker, Formlabs are all on display.
“My son is particularly interested in the 3D printing technology. I almost take him here once a week. I’m considering to buy a 3D printer for him or send him to a training class,” said another visitor.
“My wish is that every ordinary citizen could have the chance to experience 3D technology and this is why we build this pavilion. In 2014, we created some 3D Maker classrooms in many schools, from which we knew that there was actually a desire for learning new tech among students. In 2015, we started to study 3D printing applications in VR and UAV. I believe in the future, there will be loads of 3D modellings in VR.” (Ye Fang Yuan, general manager of 3D Fang Yuan)
The pavilion was built by Ningbo Hi-tech 3D Fang Yuan Technology Co., Ltd. This is the first 3D experience pavilion combining 3D printing and VR together in China. As a manufacturer of desktop-level 3D printers and VR equipment, 3D Fang Yuan has been doing quite well in terms of sales, education and customization since it was founded in 2012. The bold vision of 3D Fang Yuan is to focus on the technology research and innovation while utilizing its offline 3D&VR pavilion to bring 3D printing and VR to ordinary schools and families.
