Stratasys has presented the world with a 3D printed part that symbolises the future potential of the merger between Stratasys Inc and Objet by combining the two dominant 3D printing technologies in its portfolio — Inkjet and FDM.
The resulting part is not a fusion of the two technologies, rather a two-piece part that highlights how the processes can and do complement each other.
The part selected is a desktop card and pen holder that is based on two puzzle pieces, one part produced with inkjet technology and the other with FDM, that fit together to highlight the accuracy of both processes.
This is yet another neat little demo that serves the community — it’s an ad, but it’s a nice one.
