Solidworks 2015 To Include Native 3D Printing

Breaking a pattern of only unveiling new features as a new release goes live, Dassault Systemes has released an overview of myriad of features for this year’s Solidworks release. The big news is that Solidworks 2015 will include native 3D printing support for the latest iteration of the popular Windows operating system, no longer depending upon any third party software to go from digital to physical models.

Solidworks 2015 includes all-new three dimensional printing support for Windows 8.1 which leverage’s the operating system’s default drivers for an optimised experience. The user interface is designed to be as simple as possible, with a brief list of scroll down options. Choose your 3D printer from the drop-down menu and specify the quality of your print job. From there add infill and raft support options, and, lastly the plane of your 3D print.
