Software Update for the BEETHEFIRST 3D Printer

BEEVERYCREATIVE has released a BEESOFT software update for the company’s flagship BEETHEFIRST desktop 3D printer. The major update included in the beta version is the addition of the standalone function allowing the BEETHEFIRST to print without being connected to a computer. The company had previously announced its plans to introduce a series of upgrades to further enhance the user experience for the attractive plug-and-play machine, this update being the first step to enhance the printer’s connectivity.

Standalone allows the BEETHEFIRST to 3D print without being connected to a computer. The company states that it believes that this represents a significant improvement in the autonomy of the user. The “autonomous” option means that once a print has started, the user can disconnect the USB cable and close the BEESOFT software without interrupting the printing process itself. All the user has to do is to reconnect the USB cable in order to immediately regain control over the printing status.

After a reconnection the user can view how much time is remaining, the percentage of a prints progress, or cancel the autonomous printing process. This software update also includes a larger interactive interface area for the software’s model manipulation options that include scale, move and rotate. It is now possible to select an element by clicking on its name.

BEETHEFIRST has also revealed that it is working on further software optimisation that will result in further updates coming soon. The development program is now focused on making sure the further features are ready for launch soon including Wi-Fi connectivity to allow full user autonomy and the automated estimated duration of a 3D print and of the object weight before a print commences.
