Registration opens for AMUG Conference 2022

The 2021 3D Printing Industry Awards shortlists are open for voting, have your say now. Make sure to tune in to the live stream of the event on our YouTube channel.

The Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) has today opened the online registration for its 2022 AMUG Conference.

Open to owners and operators of industrial additive manufacturing technologies, the conference will be held between 3rd-7th April 2022, in Chicago, Illinois. The event will bring together 3D printing users of all experience levels to share valuable insights and experiences with each other, supplemented by keynotes, panel discussions and technical sessions delivered by experts in the field.

“AMUG builds the program for the conference, but our attendees make the experience unique and beneficial,” said Carl Dekker, AMUG President. “On the surface, it may look like any other conference, and many first-time attendees expect that to be the case. But when they engage in conversations that dive deep with unvarnished truths, they have an ‘ah-ha’ moment that the AMUG Conference is on a completely different level.

“The depth of free-slowing information that is exchanged is what motivates individuals to return year after year.”

The 2021 AMUG Conference

This year’s AMUG Conference convened in Orlando, Florida, between 2nd-6th May. Representing the first major in-person 3D printing event held since the world shut down as result of Covid-19, the conference welcomed around 100 exhibitors and more than 800 attendees.

Although a notably smaller affair compared to previous years, the conference still exceeded expectations across its expo, technical presentations, panel discussions, and general networking offering. According to our eyes and ears on the ground, the words ‘open, industrial, production, partnership’ aptly summed up some of the themes surrounding the announcements across materials, hardware, post-processing, and software.

If you weren’t able to attend the event in person this year, 3D Printing Industry brought together AMUG conference attendees and additive manufacturing experts to review the news and trends at this year’s event, which you can watch below.

The 2022 AMUG Conference

The next AMUG Conference will be held between 3rd-7th April, 2022, and will seek to facilitate the sharing of expertise, best practices, real-world results, challenges, and applications development between attendees.

The conference program will encourage participation and dialogue between attendees and their peers for more than 50 hours across the five-day event, with nearly 150 presentations and hands-on workshops delivered throughout the course of the conference.

The conference program also includes the AMUGexpo, which will run over the 3rd and 4th April and see in the region of 140 companies participate. For 2022, AMUG is adjusting the conference program to deliver more training and hands-on experiences in the form of workshops and trainings where 3D printing tools are the focal point of information exchange.

One highlight of the event will be the seventh annual Innovators Showcase, in which attendees can get to know industry innovators in the firm of a ‘fireside chat’, discovering insights from their experiences. EOS Founder Dr Hans Langer was honored during the 2021 show’s Innovators Showcase, where he shared his thoughts on some of the milestones he achieved throughout his 3D printing journey.

The conference will also seek to recognize excellence and contributions to the additive manufacturing industry through the AMUG Innovators Award, the Technical Competition, and the DINO (Distinguished Innovator Operator) Awards.

The DINO Awards celebrate additive manufacturing expertise and years of service and contributions to the sector, with awardees selected for their efforts to advance the industry as a whole, or the knowledge and skills of their fellow industry professionals. The winners of the 2021 DINO Awards included Shane Collins of ASTM International, Hexagon’s Giles Gaskel, Ana Neves of RAMCO, and Eagle Design and Technology’s Robin Van Bragt.

Alongside the above, the 2022 AMUG Conference will also include an off-site dinner gathering, several networking receptions, and catered meals.

The all-inclusive registration fee for the conference is currently discounted by 33 percent at $995 for attendees that sign up before 7th January, 2022. Companies wishing to participate as exhibitors or sponsors can also use the online registration process.
