3D model marketplace Pinshape’s 3D Printed Men’s Fashion Contest could net one lucky winner a huge stash of goodies including a brand new Flux All-In-One 3D printer. Pinshape is looking for the best 3D printed accessories that its community of designers can create, including bow ties, tie clips, cuff links, money clips, wallets, jewelry, belt buckles and glasses frames.
Designers can enter as many of their creations as they like, however they must be registered with Pinshape. Anyone in the world can enter the contest and there is no fee for entering. Winners will be selected based on the amount of Pinshape users who have liked their designs. Once the entry period is over, the top 10% of entries will make it to the finals. However the panel of expert judges will have the option of including a single design that they believe deserves to be considered.
The final round will be judged based on the quality, novelty and innovation of the design as well as the marketability and the presentation of the model. The panel of judges will include 3D printable fashion expert Francis Bitonti, mens clothing designer Dana Lee, co-founder of SF Fashtech Charles Belle, and Additive Fashion founder Paulina Perepelkin.
California-based Pinshape is a growing player in the world of 3D model marketplaces, and is beginning to build an extremely large stable of quality designers. Here is a brief introduction video:
The contest will end on January 11, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. PST. The first place winner will receive a Flux 3D Printer, a Swiftpoint GT mouse, an awesome cabinet from In Case Of, a three month subscription to Zockester for any style and a two month subscription to NerdBlock. Additionally the winning design will be listed and sold in the Pinshape store on Amazon and receive coverage on their social media channels.
The second and third place winners will each receive $100 of Pinshape credit, their designs will also be featured and sold on the Pinshape Amazon store and be advertised on their social media channels. The winners of the contest will be announced a day after the contest ends and the prizes will be sent out as soon as they are made available.
All designs that are entered must be new to Pinshape and not previously hosted on the marketplace. They must not have any copyrights on them other than those placed on them yourself, and you will retain complete ownership of your model. The model must be 3D printable, anything that is not manifold will be disqualified. All models must be submitted on the contest page in order to be entered for consideration.
