Bre Pettis, Robert Steiner, Aljosa Kemperle and Elizabeth Randel, otherwise known as Bold Machines – the Innovation Workshop of Stratasys – are in the process of looking for business partners for their pioneering new venture. A partner of a different kind they have already is Margo. Margo has a problem. Her parents have gone missing on a space mission. Margo is a smart young detective. Margo, the animated lead character of this first Bold project, is of course determined to find the solution.
Margo has a workshop. Margo’s workshop is full of bold prototypes of new unseen technology. Her doggie is named Eddie. Eddie is also smart. When he enters Margo’s workshop one evening she sees him walk over to some parts for inventions. Eddie comes trotting back in doggie fashion. But Eddie won’t be barking to ask to go out walking this evening. He has a jet-pack on his back!
Walking over to the wall of the workshop he pushes a brick with his nose and opens a secret passage. From there he starts the jet-pack up. Before our very eyes goes flying off into the sky! Eddie is soon back after his aerial adventure. He merrily trotts over to Margo and sits at her side, happy for his evening escapade. Margo ponders that a flying dog may be handy for her problem.
Bold Machines is now asking us, their interactive audience of prosumers, what else smart doggie Eddie might come up with in Margo’s invention workshop. What would your imagination do with your own 3D printed Eddie? Well, the team has put the designs for Eddie on Stratasys’ Thingiverse, a leading 3D file repository, for you to decide just that. Eddie wouldn’t be complete without Margo. And Margo is available for you to download too. They and other characters will be appearing in the forthcoming animated movie series by Bold Machines.
