Manufacturing and 3DP Firm ARC Group Hires Former Morris Technologies Executive

This week ARC Group — a manufacturing and 3D printing firm — announced the hiring of Tim Warden to the newly created role of VP of Sales and Business Development.

3DMT is the dedicated prototyping and 3D printing division of ARC Group Worldwide’s family of manufacturing businesses. Warden brings an extensive list of leadership positions within the 3D printing and manufacturing industries with a focus on metal 3D printing. His new role at 3DMT will be focusing on the distribution of ARC products and services and educating ARC’s existing — and potentially new — customers about the benefits of prototyping and manufacturing with metal 3D printing.

Warren was formerly the VP of Sales & Marketing at Morris Technologies, a leading firm in the development of metal 3D printing for industrial and manufacturing applications. Morris Technologies was acquired by GE Aviation last year and has shifted all of their operations to production of their own jet engines, leaving a significant void in the metal 3D printing sector. A void that ARC and 3DMT are clearly looking to fill.

“Mr. Warden is one of the few people in the world that has a demonstrated track record of success selling metal 3D printed parts and understanding the complexity of the technology,” said ARC Chairman and CEO Jason Young “Mr. Warden was instrumental in building the Morris business into a world leader in metal 3D printing, and we believe he will be a key player in helping us continue the growth of 3DMT.”

prox_300 white backgroundWarden stated that he plans to exploit ARC’s extensive background and innovation with powder metal technology and materials science to enhance the 3D printing arm of their business. Additionally he plans to sell their current customer base on new 3D printing techniques that may have previously unexplored applications to their respective businesses.

This new hire seems related to ARC and 3DMT’s recent purchase of three 3D Systems ProX 300 DMS 3D printers as part of a plan to expand their ability to work with metal 3D printing. The ProX 300 is a direct metal sintering machine that uses high-powered lasers to sinter extremely fine metal powders into 3 dimensional objects.
