Econolyst, a consultancy that dedicates itself exclusively to 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing and that has a 20 year pedigree and superb reputation, has just launched a research initiative looking at the supply and demand for 3D Printing Service Bureaux.
In seeking the widest possible participation in its research, Econolyst is looking for survey-based feedback from Service Bureaux across the globe as well as from the broad range of current and potential users of their services – spanning sectors ranging from architecture and design, through construction, automotive, healthcare and beyond. The purpose of the research is to determine to what extent the current needs of each community are being met and where the next waves of demand will come from.
Some example data collection includes: Do we still need Service Bureaux? Will access to more affordable desktop technology change the services we will want to buy in the future? Will more intelligent on-line quoting portals pull us away from our ‘favourite part suppliers’ or will part suppliers look to other value added services such as design and part finishing of Direct Part Manufacture, to maintain market share?
As a return for the time invested by participants from Service Bureaux, Econolyst will supply all those who complete the SB Survey with a White Paper detailing insights from both providers and, most valuably, the user communities they seek to serve. In addition, one participant will also receive an iPad mini in a prize draw. The survey will run until the 10th October, after which the draw for the iPad Mini will take place. The White Paper will be distributed to participants before the end of the year.
For those who are users of Service Bureaux, completion of the User survey provides participants with the opportunity to win one of five iPad minis. Once again, the research will be open until 10th October.
Further details regarding the survey can be found on the Econolyst website.
