Creality unveils new large-format HALOT-LITE 3D printer – technical specifications and pricing

Voting shortlists for the 2021 3D Printing Industry Awards are now open. Who do you think should receive top honors this year? Have your say now.

Chinese 3D printer manufacturer Creality has unveiled the latest addition to its desktop resin system portfolio: the HALOT-LITE

Featuring a larger molding size than the HALOT-SKY, Creality says its new machine offers “incredible performance” when it comes to accuracy, stability and ease-of-use. Thanks to its 192 x 120 x 200mm build plate and ARM Cortex-A53 processor, the firm also believes that the HALOT-LITE has the grunt to not only address the needs of consumer or professional users, but those of short-run industrial adopters as well.

Creality’s LCD expansion

Creality may be best known for its Ender FDM 3D printers, and it launched the rapid new Ender-7 back in June, but over the last six months it has significantly expanded its resin system range. While the company’s LCD-powered offering already included the LD-006, LD-002H and LD-002R systems, it has now expanded its portfolio with the launch of its next-generation HALOT line of machines.

Released in May 2021, the company’s HALOT-ONE represents its entry-level offering, but it still features a high-performance 5.96” 2K monochrome LCD screen that’s capable of rapid curing times of up to 1s per layer. The ONE was launched alongside the more premium HALOT-SKY model as well, which packs a larger 192 x 120 x 200mm build volume, and a 4K LCD screen for more intensive applications.

Since the machines began shipping, Creality has reported “great success” with their launches, particularly among designers and hobbyists. The firm has also showcased the HALOT-SKY’s anime figure printing capabilities, and given the high levels of accuracy and stability provided by the new HALOT-LITE, this prospect has just become a whole lot easier and more realistic for collectors everywhere.

Introducing the HALOT-LITE

Like its HALOT predecessors, the LITE is set to operate using Creality’s new proprietary optical system, that’s capable of printing parts with a uniform light density of more than 80%. By incorporating the firm’s ‘next-gen’ light source, the system is said to dodge frequent LCD printing issues like uneven curing, due to its high fault tolerance which yields models with fine detailed finishes.

The HALOT-LITE’s build volume and 8.9-inch display, meanwhile, are the same as that of the HALOT-SKY, making the former slightly larger than the 127 x 80 x 160mm plate found on the original HALOT-ONE, while under the hood, the machine is powered by Cortex’s impressive A53 processor, reportedly providing it with a computing and graphics power that far surpasses that of other LCD 3D printers.

Although the LITE packs a powerful 64-bit quad-core high-performance motherboard, it’s not designed to be any more complicated than Creality’s other printers either. The system’s large touch screen and simple user interface make it accessible to users of all skill levels, while its compatibility with the firm’s HALOT-BOX software, means that even novices can easily start slicing right from the get go.

Overall, Creality says that its new machine is designed to “meet the needs of more users across different industries,” and suggests that it now packs the performance necessary to take desktop LCD 3D printing beyond its traditional dentistry or jewelry applications, and further into the wider anime and gaming arena.
