Three Farm Teams with Work-Shop to Continue 3D Printing Education in Sydney

The foremost 3D printing educator and facilitator in Sydney, Australia, Three Farm, will host a public workspace event with Work-Shop. Titled 3D Printing Future Practice, the public event hopes to continue public education and experience with 3D printing and how it can be integrated into daily lives. Founders of Three Farm, Grace Turtle and Melissa Fuller, have grown from saving enough for a MakerBot to leading the charge as entrepreneurs in Sydney. Their event developed out of a collaboration with Chester Garcia and Matt Branagan from Work-Shop. The event will take place March 6th at the HUB Sidney, 101 William St., Darlinghurst from 6:30 to 8:30pm. At the event, participants with tickets will be encouraged to design and print their own objects with Three Farm’s tools and education.

Grace Turtle uses her multiple degrees in design to employ digital fabrication technologies, new materials and computational design to explore the potential for ecological production. Her research in social change initiatives has led to the generation of public responsive projects that create grounds for community led innovation. Melissa Fuller’s experience in high management and digital design fits perfectly with 3D printing and shares Grace’s passion for sustainability. With her skills, teaching 3D printing applications has proven invaluable to the Sydney community Three Farm reaches. She sees the great potential of 3D printing technology and sees its future widespread accessibility and practical use in personal and professional lives.

threefarm 3D PrintingGrace sums up the belief that pushes Three Farm, “It is expected that by 2020 many individuals, particularly youth will be involved with personal fabrication, 3D Printing is growing at such a rapid rate that we feel it is an invaluable tool in moving towards the Third Industrial Revolution. Society has become so reliant on technology, as 3D Printing becomes more accessible to the masses it is important that we are educated in how to use the technology towards positive change, this is the goal for Three Farm.”

The educational workshops held with various audiences from schoolhouses to businesses all have the same goal. 3D printing continues to pioneer new avenues of production and industry, and it is not hyperbole to say we are in a new wave of an industrial revolution. The difference between this one and previous lurches forward in industry lies in the hands forming the movement. Three Farm looks to place the ability in as many hands as possible, and it can create a much stronger and empowering tug.
