The 6th Relic — A 3D Printed Smart Watch

Dominic Prescod is a Brooklyn based designer who has produced a new Smart Watch design for which the manufacturing process is 3D printing. Dominic has totally bought into the 3D printing revolution of the future whereby he believes that: “In the future everyday items won’t be made my manufacturers, but by individuals.”

6th Relic 3D Printed Smart Watch

The unusually monikered 6th Relic is named as such because Dominic has designed it around the 6th generation iPod nano, a compact version of the device that allows the user to play music, radio, use Nike+ and choose from a selection of 18 watch faces which can now be worn on your wrist thanks to Dominic’s design and the capabilities of 3D printing.

Available in five colours — white, black, yellow, red or blue — the watch can be pre-ordered via Dominic’s Indiegogo campaign for $25, which he has just launched. If the campaign reaches its goal in the next 5 weeks, the 6th Relic will begin shipping soon after in June.

The personable young man himself explains his design and his vision in the campaign video below.
