Shining 3D launches EP-M150 metal 3D printer

Hangzhou-headquartered 3D printer manufacturer Shining 3D has announced at RAPID + TCT a new SLM 3D printer: the EP-M150. Designed specifically for small metal 3D printing applications, the EP-M150 is compact in size, measuring 1750 x 780 x 1900mm, making it suitable for the medical, dental, and jewelry industries. The metal additive manufacturing systems joins the EP-M250 and EP-M100T in Shining 3D’s range of SLM 3D printers.

Compact and efficient 3D printing for ease of use

Shining 3D built and designed the EP-M150 with the intention of creating a convenient and efficient metal 3D printer that is easy to maintain. The new system is said to be capable of producing 500 dental crowns using 1 kg of powder, while simultaneously using low levels of gas at 1L/minute. Shining 3D was able to minimize gas consumption by optimizing the structure of the EP-M150’s chamber and equipping it with high-quality sealing properties. Furthermore, the EP-M150 utilizes an improved feeding and sieving system enabling a reportedly high material consumption rate for increased efficiency.

The EP-M150 also comes equipped with Shining 3D’s new proprietary print operating software to make using the 3D printer easier, from the initial loading of materials to 3D printing the part. Using a “one key print” function on the 3D printer, the EP-M150 can analyze the entire print process using its internal network to 3D print at the press of a button. Shining 3D is exhibiting at Booth 1841 at Rapid + TCT, where you can learn more about the EP-M150.

Industry leading 3D scanners and printers from Shining 3D

Shining 3D is a leading 3D printer and scanner manufacturer in the Chinese market, known for its EinScan series of 3D scanners. The release of the EP-M150 follows the AccuFab-D1 DLP 3D printer that the company released last year, a similarly compact system measuring 394 x 406 x 755mm, although it was designed specifically for use in dental laboratories.

However, thanks to its vast portfolio of 3D scanning and metrology devices, the company has been nominated in the 3D Scanning or Metrology company category for the 2019 3D Printing Industry Awards. Significantly, Shining 3D has been nominated in a scanning/metrology-related category every year since the start of the 3D Printing Industry awards.
