Senvol's Growing Database for 3D Printing Proves to Be a Popular Destination

We were one of the first trade publications to focus on Senvol, and, when I predicted in October of 2014 that this was a company to keep your eye on, I was right.  The Senvol Database has taken off since it was launched in early January, attracting thousands of users.  Senvol has responded to the attention by doing what makes this startup such a standout in the first place: they’ve added more information and clarity to the whole 3D printing industry.

According to Senvol President Zach Simkin,“We’ve just made an update to the database that increased the number of machines and materials by over 50% – there are now 350+ machines and 450+ materials.”

Gartner’s called it a “One-stop shop for 3D printers and material specs”, but there’s no fee to use it, so I don’t know what the hell they’re talking about because it’s no shop. The Senvol Database is online and free to access. Users can search the database with over 30 fields, including machine build size, material type, and material tensile strength.

nozzleSenvol President Annie Wang reflected on the industry’s surprising response, saying, “The response to the Senvol Database has been tremendous. There are already thousands of users using the database on a regular basis, and that number is growing daily.” Zach Simkin also said, “Whether you’re new to the industry and simply want to see what machines are on the market, or an advanced design engineer who wants to search for materials by specific mechanical properties, the Senvol Database provides the information that you need, all at your fingertips.”

In October, Senvol was added as a Gold Member to America Makes.  Senvol’s founders burst into the industry having written a section in the 2014 Wohlers Report, and have been featured speakers at many industry trade shows, summits, and conferences. Senvol is also a member of the ASTM International F42 Committee on Additive Manufacturing Technologies.

Senvol is always looking for feedback from their user community to perpetually expand and improve the Senvol Database. Anytime users have a comment, suggestion, or idea, they are encouraged to email [email protected]. To check out the Senvol Database and start your search, visit http://www.senvol.com/database.
