6K appoints Edward Liddy to Board of Directors
6K, a developer of industrial materials for the 3D printing sector, has appointed Edward Liddy to its Board of Directors. In his new role, Liddy will help lead the company’s investment and strategy decisions in a bid to expand within the additive manufacturing and battery materials sectors.
Liddy brings with him a wealth of executive experience, having previously served as former Chairman for Allstate and Interim Chairman for AIG. He has also served on the boards of major firms such as Boeing, 3M, Abbott Laboratories, and Goldman Sachs.
Dr Aaron Bent, CEO of 6K, said, “6K is collaborating with the top-tier players in both the battery and additive manufacturing markets to replace legacy technologies to develop and produce performance materials sustainably with our UniMelt microwave plasma platform and Ed’s appointment to the board gives us a strategic viewpoint and provides a unique insight to mergers and acquisition, investment opportunities and commercial partnerships.”
Photocentric announces Paul Ruscoe as Business Development Director
LCD 3D printer manufacturer Photocentric has announced the appointment of Paul Ruscoe as its new Business Development Director. Ruscoe will combine his expertise in volume production and understanding of quality standards to provide support to customers in their manufacturing projects.
With almost three decades of industry experience in a plethora of market verticals, he’s worked with several blue-chip companies across automotive, oil & gas, medical, and consumer goods. Ruscoe also has an Honors degree in Polymer Science and Engineering and a Master’s degree in Advanced Product Design.

AMT appoints Magnus René as Chairman of the Board
AMT (Additive Manufacturing Technologies), a developer of automated post-processing systems for 3D printed parts, has announced Magnus René as the new Chairman of the firm’s Board of Directors.
René holds decades of executive experience in both public and private tech companies, having previously served as CEO of Arcam before it was acquired by GE in 2018. He is also currently the Supervisory Board Director and Vice Chairman of 3D printer OEM SLM Solutions, Chairman of Ovzon AB, a satellite communications firm, Board Director of MIT spin-out Inkbit, and Board Director of agricultural technology company BoMill.
“I am honored to take on this role at AMT at such a pivotal time in the additive manufacturing industry,” said René. “AMT’s technology and ability in post-processing is instrumental in developing additive manufacturing processes fit for production. Evolve hires Michael Smith as Sr. VP of Sales and Marketing
Evolve Additive Solutions, a developer of 3D printing technology, has hired Michael Smith as its new Sr. VP of Sales and Marketing. He will be responsible for leading and developing the sales and marketing efforts for the company’s global markets.
Smith holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Business Management from the University of Phoenix, as well as an MBA from the University of Redlands. He’s a polymer manufacturing industry veteran, having served as VP of Sales and Service at Pegaso, President and CEO of LK Systems, and General Manager of Husky Injection Molding Systems.
“I have admired Evolve for its innovative technology and dynamic leadership team,“ stated Smith. “I look forward to working with them, and I’m honored to be selected to lead their future growth in advanced manufacturing allowing us to provide industry-leading customer support and product innovation in one of the fastest growing markets in the world.”
Renishaw’s Ben Goodare named manufacturing role model
Ben Goodare, Head of Sustainability at engineering firm Renishaw, has been named one of The Manufacturer’s Top 100 role models for the manufacturing sector. The commemorative list aims to recognize those that have contributed the most to the advancement of the UK’s manufacturing industry.
Goodare has been at Renishaw for nine years and has spent his time implementing the company’s carbon management system. Initially, he used data from 139 locations to calculate Renishaw’s carbon footprint and has since helped the firm reduce its emissions by 39%. This was done through a number of initiatives such as switching to low impact lighting, installing insulation, and migrating to renewable energy sources.
“It was great to see such a range of people recognised in The Manufacturer’s Top 100,” said Goodare. “To be recognised for sustainability work in the industry demonstrates that manufacturing and sustainability go hand in hand. One great thing about my role is how applicable the work is — I work with everyone at Renishaw because sustainability is relevant to all aspects of our business.”
Nano Dimension and TTM establish new AME NanoLab
Nano Dimension, a specialist in additively manufactured electronics (AME), has partnered with computing hardware firm TTM Technologies to open its new 3D printing facility. The AME NanoLab TTM is designed to allow customers and researchers to get a feel for the AME 3D printing workflow and will also be used to provide training and consultations for the partners’ clients. The lab is located at TTM’s Advanced Manufacturing Centre in Stafford Springs, CT.
Sean Patterson, President of Nano Dimension, said, “Our goal with this is to align roadmaps, research and development to support TTM and their original equipment manufacturers, which will provide a better understanding of their use cases and materials requirements and as a result, our customers will now be able to more easily explore the 3D space for HI-PEDS while also reducing the environmental impact in electronics manufacturing.”
