Sunny Miami Gets A 1Click 3D Printing Service

March this year saw the opening of Florida’s, and one of America’s, first 3D printing providers with a printing Livestream, the Object Shop in Pasco, which we reported on earlier in the year. In June Florida’s Museum of Science and Industry partnered with the University of South Florida’s College of Arts to present an exhibition covering a wide range of our subject technologies applications named 3D Printing The Future, which is still on after being extended to meet popular demand. Now, Miami is getting its own 3D printing service provider and 3D printer retailer, 1click3Dprint, which opened on the 17th of this month.

Sunny Miami is a city known the world over for its high quality of living, ranked the world’s cleanest city by Forbes in 2008 and ranked the richest city in the US by a UBS study of 73 world cities. Miami has a number of prestigious nick-names such as the “Capital of South America” and “Cruise Capital of the World.” It is also now home to a dedicated 3D print business that brings a range of services to the area.

1click3Dprint operates according to its motto of being a “one stop shop for all your 3D printing and prototyping needs.” The company offers a full range of services including the provision of printing services in a range of high and low detail plastics, three dimensional scanning, prototyping services, assistance in learning 3D printing technologies as well as retailing prosumer 3D printers. The company also offers full body 3D scanning for the increasingly popular 3D selfie.

Werner Blumenthal, CEO of the new company told smartprinting.co: “1Click3DPrint is a one stop shop for all your 3D printing and prototyping needs. Every day, our family of companies guides our customers through the entire product development life-cycle: from 3D modeling initial design concepts to 3D printing final designs. Our goal is to democratize access to 3D printing and take small scale manufacturing to the next level.” He added: “We are committed to sharing the world of 3D printing with everyone and we believe services like this one are an intrinsic part of achieving this.”

Users of the service can upload their CAD files to the 1click3Dprint website via their online printing portal by creating an account and going through a series of simple steps to allow the company to turn their digital representation into a physical 3D printed model. The company retails a range of prosumer printers by the big industry players Stratasys including the MakerBot Replicator 2x, Z18 and Fifth Generation machines; alongside the Cube 3 and Cube Pro range from 3D Systems: ranging from $1375 to $6499.

So, 3D printing businesses continue to be established amidst the sun blessed palm trees and hub of commerce that is Florida and it is interesting to see the local 3D Printing The Future exhibition extended, a loose indication that interest from locals and tourists is high. New 3D printing stories will doubtless continue from the Cruise Capital of the World.
