MecklerMedia may not have made it through the 3D printing hype bubble, but parts of it have survived through 3DR Holdings, LLC and Rising Media, Inc. Just before the New Year, it was announced that Rising Media, previously responsible for Inside 3D Printing Dusseldorf, had picked up Inside 3D Printing and RoboUniverse in the US. Now, the event company, along with 3DPrint.com owner 3DR Holdings, have purchased the remainder of the international events as equal partners and will run all of the upcoming shows. This includes the upcoming Inside 3D Printing and RoboUniverse Singapore, where 3DPI will have a reporter on the ground to cover all of the happenings.
Founder and CEO of Rising Media, Matthew Finlay, noted, “Inside 3D Printing and RoboUniverse are fantastic additions to our portfolio of market-leading technology events. Our European team was pleased with the successful launch two years ago of Inside 3D Printing in Germany. Adding the successful US and Asian events to our portfolio creates a great deal of synergy.” Alan Meckler, Chairman and CEO of MecklerMedia, added, “We’re delighted to have found such a good home for the US editions of both trade shows and expect to see both US and international editions of the events continue to grow.” Fortunately, for continuity and for the livelihoods of those involved, a number of MecklerMedia team members will join Rising Media and will participate in the production of the trade shows.
