As 3D printing expands its influence in the Silicon Valley, with local companies turning to the technology for prototyping and manufacturing, it will become necessary to test 3D printed products under a range of environmental conditions to ensure reliability in the field. Luckily, environmental testing is already a well-established industry and Hastest Solutions, Inc. is one option for small and medium-sized businesses in the San Jose region. And, if you’re a business local to the Bay Area and are looking for something to do this Halloween, Hastest is holding an Executive Open House and Ribbon Cutting on October 31, 2013, from 11:00am – 3:00pm.
Among the facilities that Hastest offers is a 40 foot Rain & Salt Spray chamber, used to test automotive and military components and paint with the use of Sodium chloride sprayed at an angle between 15° to 30° for 24-1000 hours. Hastest also houses solar panel, UV, humidity, and temperature test chambers, as well as smaller pressure cookers, vacuum-pressure and steam testing equipment, among other machines. During the event, visitors will be able to see many of the company’s products, in addition to a live demo lab testing prototypes in their research and development phase.
The company was founded by Hastest CEO, Sajjad Mir, who has been in the business for sometime, leaving his old post at Northrop Grumman and establishing the company in 2002. Since then, he has worked for such well-known companies as IBM, Texas Instruments, Flextronics International Ltd. and DuPont-EKC Technology Inc. Mir explained that the purpose of his company’s expansion was in anticipation of specific emerging technological fields, saying, “We are excited about the expansion of Hastest Solutions. The leading objective of our expansion is to serve major growth industries such as LED, Defense, Materials, 3D Printing, Solar and Automotive. The City of San Jose’s business development offices, the contractors, and our team has worked diligently to make this expansion a reality. It is our desire to, continually service industries at the highest level of trade standards, along with supporting local businesses and its economy. This open house event is a glimpse of what is to come from Hastest Solutions locally, nationally and internationally.”
Also present at the open house will be San Jose Vice Mayor Madison Nguyen, San Jose Councilmember Kansen Chu, and AM 1220 KDOW Radio Show Host Margaret Jackson.
