Crash Test a Drone at the New RoboUniverse San Diego

After launching the first series of conferences in both New York City and Seoul earlier this summer, leading expo producer MecklerMedia is now bringing the newly formed RoboUniverse Conference & Expo to the West Coast of the USA. Still in its first year of existence, the RoboUniverse event will take over the San Diego Convention Center from December 14-16, and will focus exclusively on the industry-wide advancements of service robotics. The conference will feature a plethora of interactive and educational speakers and displays, including the complementary EZDrone Crash Course, where attendees will be given the opportunity to test drive a drone at the convention center throughout the week.

“As the industry’s premier service robotics trade show, RoboUniverse showcases practical robot solutions and innovation trends across industries that improve the way people work, learn, and live,” said Richard Erb, Executive Director of RoboUniverse.

Although the RoboUniverse Conference & Expo is focused strictly on the application of robotic systems, there are still a couple of speakers representing the 3D printing side of this similarly emerging technology. Speaking on “Emerging Technologies for Flexible and Agile Manufacturing” is 3D printing company FATHOM’s Applications Engineer Bethany L. Caserez, while Tyler Benster, the Event Coordinator of the Inside 3D Printing Conference and Expo, will be one of the acting judges for the RoboGameChanger Startup Competition. In addition to these aforementioned 3D printing enthusiasts will be innovative tech pioneers such as Chris Anderson (CEO of 3D Robotics), Charles Bergan (VP of Engineering at Qualcomm), Cynthia Breazeal (Founder of Jibo), among others.

The event will ultimately detail how robotic systems have impacted agriculture, drones, cognitive science, STEM education, and our society in general, making it an interesting trade show for anyone intrigued by robotics, 3D printing, the IoT, or just technology in general. After San Diego, RoboUniverse will fly off the Singapore in Jaunrary 2016, and then back for a second round in New York City during April 2016. Prices for RoboUniverse San Diego will rise tomorrow, so be sure to register today if you’re interested in checking out the latest robotic innovations!  And make sure to enter the code “3DPI” for a 10% discount.
