Bobble Head Remixes MixeeLabs Origins

MixeeLabs, with its online customizing Creator apps, first allowed customers to make cartoon-like 3D printed portraits called MixeeMes. Since releasing additional cufflink, wallet and molecule Creators, the site has revisited its MixeeMe origins and given them a remix. Today, the site will begin offering 3D printed bobblehead figurines that offer the same cuteness as the MixeeMe figurines, but with a bouncy flair.

The 3D printed, custom Bobble Head Creator gives customers the chance to design a 2.5 inch (6.5 cm) personal bobblehead using a variety of interchangeable features. You can select hair styles, facial expressions, clothing and accessories to best match the figure you’re going for.  The figure is then printed via Shapeways in full-colour sandstone with a 3D printed nylon spring, all for a price of $25. Just watch it bobble!

Mike Wedding day Bobblehead MixeeLabsYou can even add your own custom designs for the face and attire of your bobblehead, though such a print would run between $70 and $200. I’ve tried to make a bobblehead of myself on my wedding day. I uploaded a custom texture map for the face and used some pre-made clothing and hair for the rest. I think that, if I worked on it a little bit more and uploaded a texture map of my own suit, it might not be a bad bobbler.

And, for no reason other than I want a doggy, here is an animated .gif of a dog sniffing a Bobbler, courtesy of MixeeLabs.
