New York’s Next Top Makers is inviting makers, designers, and engineers in New York City to develop new products with commercial potential. The goal of the challenge is to promote innovative manufacturing in New York City (including 3D printing), and to foster the development of new businesses within NYC’s industrial business, design and engineering communities. According to the organizes, the ultimately aim of this competition is to transform makers into founders.
Six finalists who exhibit the best designs will be awarded five months of studio space, a $300 credit to Shapeways (based in New Yort), expert mentorship and business support. All Studio Phase finalists will compete for an additional Grand Prize of $11,000.
The competition is open until February 13, 2013, so there’s just under a week left for makers to enter a submission. If you do want to enter, even at this stage, full rules can be viewed here.
