Toronto-based YouTube superstars Mitchell Moffit and Gregory Brown, the creators of popular science channel AsapSCIENCE have made a simple and lucid video blog titled: “Will 3D Printing Change Everything”. The channel, with more than 1.75 million subscribers, uses videos that average around three minutes, with white board animations to help educate the viewers on complex science phenomena in a fun way.
In the latest video uploaded to their channel this weekend past, AsapSCIENCE has touched on our favourite subject, 3D printing, and throws light on the “third industrial revolution,” as they — and others — call it. In a very simplistic presentation, they explore the possibilities of 3D printing in sectors ranging from novelty, industrial equipment design, mass customization, pharmaceuticals and even 3D bio-printing cells and tissues. For beginners out there wanting to learn more about the now vast topic of 3D printing, this is a fun, introductory lesson, although, while they make a good effort, they don’t quite delineate clearly between what is possible now and what will be possible in the future.
