There's a New Face in 3D Printing at FormLabs

Formlabs, manufacturer of the Form 1 desktop stereolithography 3D printer, has just added a new executive to its team.  After serving as the Managing Director of the Boston location for IDEO, a global innovation and design consultancy, Colin Raney will be joining Formlabs to concentrate on the company’s global marketing and customer experience.

Formlabs co-founder, Natan Linder, says of the company’s newest member, “To build the best 3D printer, you need to have the best team, and we’re delighted to have Colin joining us. Colin was an early adopter of the Form 1, and his track-record as a leader in design and product innovation speaks for itself.” Raney adds, “I’m excited to join Formlabs at such an important moment in their evolution. We have some really impressive talent developing some remarkable technology. I’m looking forward to helping the company create experiences that empower engineers, designers, and makers all over the world.”

Working at IDEO, Raney helped the firm to consider the future of manufacturing and maintain a focus on practical innovation.  At the same time, Raney sits on the Advisory Council for the MIT Media Lab and has worked with a large number of Fortune 500 companies.  As the 3D printer manufacturer continues to grow, extending its reach into Europe and across the globe, the new addition to the team will likely bring a wealth of experience to aid them on their journey.
