Exponential Medicine will be a gathering of innovators from across diverse clinical fields to explore the rapidly accelerating progression of technologies for health and medicine. To quote: ”Technological breakthroughs are emerging from the intersection of various exponentially growing fields: Where 3D printing and stem cell biology meet, we see a new organ regeneration industry emerge; where cloud computing, microfluidics and artificial intelligence intersect we witness the creation of the Star Trek medical Tricorder.”

The 2014 Exponential Medicine program includes no less than Peter Diamandis of XPRIZE, Planetary Resources & Human Longevity, UCSF’s Laura Esserman, uBiome’s Jessica Richman, Synthetic Genomics’ Craig Venter, and Google’s Ray Kurzweil. The full, packed faculty of world leading medical professionals, biomedical founders, health innovators and industry executives is at the formal schedule that also features workshops, demos and time for networking at the Hotel Del beachfront, San Diego, California.

SU encourages innovation through technology via annual Global Impact Competitions, held in partnership with local organizations in over forty countries worldwide. SU LABS is SU’s accelerator where Singularity University launches companies that will impact the world of tomorrow. Breakthrough ventures have been formed at the Exponential Medicine event in the past, such as Scanadu — Qualcomm XPRIZE Tricorder competition finalist and contender for the $10million incentive prize to help place a handheld multi-functional medical computational device, in afforementioned Star Trek style, in the hands of health professionals, today.

Topics for presentation and discussion include a pertinant range of technologies that are advancing medical practice and patient engagement at an exponential rate such as: mobile health, big data analytics; artificial intelligence; 3D printing; robotics and the internet of things. Prime topics also include how trends for personalization, gene therapy and regenerative medicine will change approaches in prevention, diagnosis and therapy.

There are still places available for this foremost meeting of innovators, the event will likely appeal to clinicians across the medical spectrum, from full time clinicians to academics looking to understand the global trends, disruptive technologies in medicine and healthcare; inventors & innovators involved and interested in innovation to develop novel solutions and improve current approaches; plus medtech & biopharma executives and investors who will receive insight into the formost technological trends and their ramifications in the marketplace and beyond.

Will Weisman, Singularity University’s Executive Director of Conferences said: “Exponential Medicine is a core element in SU’s conference series and the caliber of participants and speakers that we gather make this a truly remarkable and must-attend event for clinicians, inventors, technologists and senior leaders in healthcare and medicine.”

You can find out more about the event at the Singularity University website and register at the dedicated Exponential Medicine website.
