restor3d, a specialist in 3D printed personalized orthopedic solutions, launched MyFit by restor3d Digital Suite on September 8, 2026, a new patient engagement platform designed to give orthopedic implant patients visibility into their treatment and connect that experience to long-term clinical outcomes data. The company is making the suite available to all its surgeons with a restor3d patient-specific case.
Tracking implants from design through surgery
MyFit extends restor3d’s personalization approach beyond the implant itself and into how patients experience their treatment. The suite includes two components tailored to different procedures. MyFit Connect provides hip and knee patients with automated SMS updates at key points in their implant’s progress, covering enrollment, design, manufacturing, and surgery readiness. For shoulder and foot and ankle patients, a separate patient portal offers implant status updates along with an interactive 3D model of the patient’s personalized design, accessible using basic identifying information.
CEO Kurt Jacobus said the platform reflects a philosophy the company has applied to implant design now being extended to the patient side of care. “Patients undergoing joint replacement are increasingly engaged in their care and want to better understand the technology and treatment designed specifically for them,” he said. restor3d frames the tools as reducing the administrative load on surgeon’s offices, which otherwise field routine questions about implant status directly from patients.

A registry built for long-term outcomes data
Beyond day-to-day updates, MyFit gives patients the option to join the restor3d Patient-Specific Registry, a prospective, longitudinal study collecting patient-reported outcomes from baseline through five years after surgery. The registry spans knee, hip, shoulder, and foot and ankle procedures and is designed to enroll approximately 2,250 patients.
Data collection happens directly from patients electronically, an approach restor3d says is intended to build real-world evidence around patient-specific, 3D printed implants while limiting the extra administrative work required of participating practices. Surgeons involved in the registry can access their own patients’ reported outcomes.
Michael Swank, MD, of Imperial Health in Lake Charles, Louisiana, described the registry’s purpose in linking three parts of care that have often been tracked separately. “MyFit creates an opportunity to connect three things that are fundamental to the future of personalized orthopedics: the patient experience, the technology used to treat each individual patient, and the outcomes that follow,” he said.
What restor3d offers
restor3d builds its business around AI-based design software paired with vertically integrated additive manufacturing, producing FDA-cleared, anatomy-matched implants for the shoulder, hip, knee, foot, and ankle. The company’s portfolio has expanded steadily over the past year: in February 2026, restor3d launched the Ossera AFX Ankle Fusion Cage System into full commercial distribution, offered in both standard off-the-shelf and made-to-order configurations to address complex ankle fusion cases.

That expansion has been backed by significant capital. Partners Group made its first institutional investment in restor3d in August 2025, bringing the company’s total funding to $104 million and joining its board with operational and healthcare expertise. At the time, restor3d reported working with more than 520 surgeons across 740 hospitals nationwide in 2024, using its combination of AI-driven design and fast surgical planning to tailor implants to individual patient anatomy.
MyFit extends that personalization approach from the implant itself into the patient’s experience of care, giving patients and surgeons a connected view of a process that, at restor3d’s current scale, already spans hundreds of hospitals and thousands of cases a year.
A Push to connect every stage of personalized care
MyFit’s role in linking planning, manufacturing, and outcomes tracking shows how companies are increasingly bundling every step of a patient’s implant journey into a single system rather than optimizing pieces of it separately. The logic is that faster implant design counts for little if referrals, delivery times, or long-term outcome data remain fragmented across separate tools.
Competitors are pursuing this in their own way. Onkos Surgical’s My3D pelvic reconstruction platform crossed 1,000 surgical cases, combining case planning, imaging, 3D anatomic modeling, and implant design into one pipeline built to make personalized care fast and affordable enough to be routine rather than a slow, costly exception.
Materialise has taken a comparable approach upstream in its own portfolio. The company tracks its custom implant cases through a single digital planning and case management system, Mimics Flow, and recently expanded that system to include custom PEEK implants alongside titanium in its cranio-maxillofacial line, building on a platform already used in more than 80 cranial implant surgeries since 2023.
Across these moves, the goal is the one restor3d is pursuing with MyFit: proving a personalized implant pipeline can hold up at real clinical volume, not just work as a one-off case.
