Optomec Electronics 3D Printers Head to UK & Ireland

Recently, Optomec, a leading American supplier of metal and electronics 3D printers, signed a distribution agreement with Semitronics Sales Ltd that will expand Optomec’s sales to include the UK and Ireland. Semitronics is a leading UK supplier for photovoltaics, microelectronics, Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) applications, and printed electronics. It should be a great fit for Optomec and their high-resolution 3D printers.

Optomec Aerosol Jet printers are specified to manufacture light-weight, high-performance, smaller devices. These are the kinds of devices often used in consumer electronics, the aerospace/defense industry, and the Internet of Things (IoT).  The patented Aerosol Jet process can be scaled for high-volume production applications, which is a big advantage for manufacturing within these markets. The process works using aerodynamic focusing to print functional components and electronic circuitry in dimensions ranging from very small (10 microns) to as large as several millimeters.

Michael Kardos, Optomec VP of worldwide sales says, “We are very happy to partner with Semitronics to expand sales of Aerosol Jet systems in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Semitronics team has an excellent track record of delivering complete manufacturing solutions to the region’s electronics industry, including printing systems, consumables, and post-processing equipment. They’re already off to a great start with sales of two Aerosol Jet systems to a leading Defense and R&D organization during 2015.”

Jeremy Davis, Managing Director of Semitronics, is also excited about the partnership. He says, “We are delighted to add Optomec Aerosol Jet printers to our portfolio of solutions. Aerosol Jet printers provide new and exciting capabilities for our customers which will enable them to cost-effectively manufacture smaller and lighter-weight electronic devices.”
