NOLA 3D Printing Services Begins Commercial Operations This Month

NOLA 3D Printing LLC is a start-up based in New Orleans, Louisiana, that is soon to be offering a 3D printing service, predominantly to industrial clients. The company was first established last year by four people, from an eclectic mix of backgrounds — a prosthetist, an attorney, an investment banker and a college student — with a shared excitement about the trends and potential that continue to emerge around 3D printing.

Commercial operations are imminent with the arrival of the first industrial grade 3D printer — a Fortus 400mc — scheduled to arrive at the facility next week and orders being taken from 25th April 2013. The Fortus 400mc from Stratasys will be the first 3D printer at the site with NOLA’s founders expect to grow the business rapidly based on customer demand and planning to add significant additional printing capacity by the end of the year.

There is not much to go on at this point, the website is a holding page with some basic information, but the team has been active via various social media channels to raise their profile and engage with the community. It will be interesting to see how they progress and to see what 3D printing projects emerge from this venture.
