New Ceramic Colours by i.materialise

3D printing service provider i.materialise has released a colourful new range of food-safe ceramic materials. The previous colour choices for ceramic prints were in soft pastel tones, but i.materialise has brightened them up, just in time for summer. The new brighter coloured ceramics are also available to customers with a shorter turnaround time, as well as having a better overhang printing capability. Now, to promote these new bold, food-safe 3D printed ceramics i.materialise is offering a free ceramic eggcup with each new order.

i.materialise has introduced seven new colours for their ceramics material range to replace their old pastel colour selection: Banana Yellow, Safety Orange, Tomato Red, Apple Green,Denim Blue, Black and White. It used to take 15–20 business days for the models to be shipped out, but now the service provider has shortened that time to 10–15 days.

The improved ceramic printing process now allows for larger overhanging designs for 3D prints. Previously an overhang – a part of the design that protrudes from the main body of a print – was previously limited to 20 mm, but now can be up 90 mm.

The eggcup bonus is a design by Viktoria Dehtevica from SSSAA of Lugano, and provides an example of some of the unique tableware designs that can be 3D printed in ceramic. The eggcups will be packed together with each 3D model of any material, with a colour chosen at random from the new range for an ‘eggciting’ surprise. Sorry – couldn’t resit!
