iMakr — It’s the Big Day Tomorrow for the World’s Biggest 3D Printing Store

Since the last update regarding the grand opening of iMakr, which is being billed as the largest 3D printing store in the world, there have been further revelations about what is in store for attendees tomorrow evening when the store opens its doors for the first time.

iMakr has announced a deal with 3D Systems, whereby it will be selling the Cube, CubeX and CubeX Trio 3D printers. Sylvain Preumont, iMakr’s founder and CEO commented specifically on this development: “We’re glad that Cubify and 3D Systems, the world leader in 3D printing, support our initiative.”

Similarly, the Solidoodle 3 will be on show and available for sale in the iMakr store. Solidoodle, a Brooklyn based manufacturer of 3D printers, shares a common vision with iMakr in that is wants to bring 3D Printing to the masses. The latest 3D printer from this vendor, the Solidoodle 3, is said to offer exceptional performance and reliability under £1000.

Due to the high levels of interest, the opening event is now set to take place across two evenings — tomorrow night (30th April) as originally planned and also on Wednesday, 1st May. Attendees will have the opportunity mingle with some 3D printing industry stalwarts, including Adrian Bowyer, the inventor of the RepRap; Solidoodle’s CEO and Founder, Sam Cervantes; and Mark Bloomfield, a world renowned 3D designer. Executive management from i.Materialise will also be present along with some sumptuous and impressive 3D printed pieces. According to iMakr, other founders and CEO’s expected include Rajeev Kulkarni (Cubify), Mathijs Kossen (LeapFrog), Hakan Okka (iRapid), Bram de Zwart (3D Hubs) and Clare Cunningham (Faberdashery).

And as if that were not enough, champagne and canapés will also be served during the evening.

The iMakr store is supported by iMakr.VC, a venture capital fund dedicated to investing in the 3D printing sector. And for anyone as yet undecided on attending there are a few remaining places for which you can register — meetu.ps/WZ8bs (April 30th) or meetu.ps/12lsDq (May 1st).

I’ll be there tomorrow – make sure you say hi if you are too. Look forward to it!
