Vote now in the 2022 3D Printing Industry Awards.

Intech Additive Solutions, an Indian additive manufacturing company, has announced the launch of its 2nd Generation iFusion150, a successor to the iFusion SF1 Metal 3D Printer.

This upgrade enhances the 1st generation machine’s various features, such as improved operational safety, a decrease in the need for human involvement, and additional features like compact design, dual lock safety, and butterfly valves with automatic control for filter changes without pausing the run. According to the company, iFusion150 will help various industries, including R&D labs, general engineering, the automotive industry, the defense sector, the tool and die industry, the space industry, and educational institutions.

“All industries are experiencing a tremendous advancement in technology. We are always creating and improving products in accordance with customer feedback to create software and technology that is ready for the future. The machine can be upgraded to 700W and 1000W in our most recent improvements, and a greater variety of metal alloys can be employed to manufacture products,” said Mr. Pradeep Nair, Vice President at Intech Additive Solutions.

The iFusion150 from Intech was recently installed at CONIFY in Greece.

Intech Additive Solutions’ industrial portfolio

Intech Additive Solutions Pvt Ltd was founded in 2012 by Sridhar Balaram and is the first Indian Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to develop and supply Metal 3D Printers. The company claims that the iFusion150 is its most successful product, as it is a high-performance small format Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) Metal 3D Printer. Intech provides a complete AM ecosystem, from concept design and material selection to metal part printing, post-processing, and testing.

Intech developed the world’s first parameter optimization software, dubbed AMOptoMet in 2017. In addition, the company added the AMBuilder software to its portfolio in 2020. Intech introduced the large-format machine in 2021, making them the industry’s committed complete solutions provider. DMG MORI, a German-Japanese machine tool company, had previously invested in Intech and entered its advisory panel to determine the company’s success. IIT Madras, INDO MIM, Yenepoya University, Pandit Deendayal Energy University, MRF, Bellatrix Aerospace, and others are among Intech’s estimated clients.

“With the launch of the new 2nd Generation iFusion150, we hope to expand in international markets like those in Asia Pacific and Europe, and we look forward to collaborating with relevant distributors in these regions,” said the Vice President of Intech Additive Solutions.

Features of iFusion150 metal 3D printer

The iFusion150 provides users with the power necessary to print at higher build rates and layer thicknesses thanks to its 500-Watt laser source. Intech claims that due to its enormous build volume of 150 mm diameter x 180 mm height, which enables nesting and stacking of more parts per build, the iFusion150 is among the high-performing machines in its class in terms of performance with a low cost per part.

The machine’s superior performance, high precision, and high level of durability and stability were produced by a small number of high-quality components, produced by IPG Lasers, ScanLab Optics, and Beckhoff Automation; these features are included in the current model.

The iFusion150 comes with AMBuilder, which is an integrated pre-build design software for PBF-based additive manufacturing. AMBuilder caters to the requirements of both novice and advanced users. The software’s built-in algorithms incorporate Intech’s extensive knowledge of additive manufacturing, allowing users to obtain the right build on the first print.
