Forecast 3D is Expanding to Make Room for Even More AM Production

3D printing and rapid prototyping company Forecast 3D has announced that it is expanding its manufacturing space by an additional 5500 square feet, making their production facility a massive 42,500 square feet. This expansion allows the company to increase the 3D printing and rapid prototyping services already offered and bring in new equipment and materials.

Additive manufacturing isn’t new to Forecast 3D, they’ve been in the business of 3D printing for 20 years. The Carlsbad, California based rapid prototyping company started offering 3D printing and short-run manufacturing services in 1994 and as the technology grew so have their facilities.

In addition to the new CNC department, Forecast 3D currently offers Stereolithography (SLA), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS)  and PolyJET high precision colour 3D printing services as well as in-house RTV tooling. The company offers several services, including rapid prototyping, small-scale or short run manufacturing and additive manufacturing services for aerospace, automotive and medical applications.

“We focus on quick-turn prototype work in both our additive manufacturing capabilities as well as our subtractive CNC milling,” explained Forecast 3D COO and co-founder Donovan Weber. “Our customers appreciate that we keep our focus on prototype and short-runs as our niche, as well as our focus on craftsmanship and customer service. We are excited to continue to grow our operation organically.”

The additional 5,500 square foot building will house the new CNC Machining department, a move that frees up the same amount of space to bring in new 3D printing equipment. Additionally it positions them to be ready to scale up their operations when they bring in new industrial 3D printing equipment and technology as well as complete their ISO 9001 certification early next year.
